Brit born photographic artist Vikki Calvert, chose the beautiful hinterlands of the Sunshine Coast to call home. She draws her inspiration from the Australian landscape + her fascination with the ebb and flow of the natural world.
Her images sit in the space between noticing and knowing — moments where the landscape has not yet fully revealed itself. Working with available natural light, she captures texture distance and atmosphere, allowing forms to surface gradually rather than demand attention.
From softened horizons to close, quiet studies of movement, each work from THE PAUSE BETWEEN holds a different register of perception. Muted, tonal palettes and restrained compositions create a sense of calm, inviting the viewer to pause and remain in that suspended state — where light gathers, edges blur, and meaning reveals itself slowly.
